History: The Dark Elves and Wood Elves were once the same, born of the union between the Elder Gods, Ingarus and Mirezvala. It is because of the separation of Ingarus and Mirezvala that the Drow have a strong hatred for both the Elves and the Pixies. In the past they have tended to stay within the Underdark and are typically unused to the harsh light of the sun. The Drow are the creators of the race of Driders, who have served them as slaves for centuries.
Current: The Drow are venturing forth from the Underdark, for Mezen'kya, their home, has been reduced to near ruin. With the loss of their harsh Goddess, many who have wanted to venture forth to the surface have been able to do so. More and more Dark Elves are being seen in and around the major cities of the world, though the vast majority still perfer to stick to the dark and shaded places.
Racial Conflict: It is generally accepted that Dark Elves, despite their recent appearance aboveground and their creation of Tsvorin, still hold themselves in higher regard than all other races. They loathe orcs, as most do, and tend to avoid Wood Elves whenever possible.
